SELFIE TIPS:
1. LIGHTING
You need good, natural lighting. Instead of facing your computer screen or television, turn toward a window.
You can also take a piece of white paper and hold it underneath your chin, which will create a natural bounce of light.
2. AVOID SHADOWS
Shadows can look like bags under your eyes and are seldom flattering (we know you work hard).
Play around until you find an angle that doesn’t cast any shadow on your face.
3. WHEN TO USE FLASH
Easy: don't use flash!
4. SMILE LIKE YOU MEAN IT
Think about something pleasurable and funny, someone you love, something that makes you happy. Be YOU and smile with your eyes!
5. PLAY TO YOUR ANGLES
Keep your chin down and the camera up. Try to hold the phone so that the bottom of it is level with your eyes. Try not to stare directly into the camera.
6. CHOOSE YOUR BACKGROUND
A wall is usually the best option. Try different backgrounds.
7. SHOOT IN PORTRAIT MODE
No landscape mode please, we can't use them.
8. MAKE IT FUN
Don't hesitate to accessorise and have a laugh!
